i am bringing it up now before the watchtower society tries to sell off the particular building in question.

Jehovah's Witnesses and the Watchtower Society rarely admit to the blunders that occur in their building projects.
One of the quick build halls in this area had to have all the drywall re-done because of some mistake that were made during the hasty build. Apparently the roof also had to be redone. Perhaps the leaky roof destroyed the drywall?

The point of this thread was not to justify whether or not what happened in WW2 was right or wrong. The point was to show that the US has intentionally killed innocent people in the past. Yeru asked the question.
If he was in the British military, and asked that of Britian, I would have referred to Dresdan, and the 135,000 civilians killed in that firestorm.
As for my claim that American's feel they have the moral high-ground and are incapable of such things, just listen to some right-wing talk radio. Perhaps this doesn't reflect the viewpoint of Mr and Mrs American, but the picture painted is that America is God's tool on this earth, and that the US is the only country capable of doing what is right and just.
It just isn't so.

I beg to differ.
So I put this question to the arm-chair historians out there. When did the US intentionally kill innocent people, and when?
Hamas mentioned Hiroshima, and Nagasaki in August 1945.

The first "fire bomb" raid was on Kobe on February 3 and following relative success the AAF continued the tactic. Much of the armor and the defensive weapons of the bombers were also removed to allowed increased bomb loads, Japanese air defence in terms of night-fighters and anti-aircraft guns was so feeble it was hardly a risk. The first such raid on Tokyo was on the night of February 23-24 when 174 B-29s destroyed around one square mile of the city. Following on that success 334 B-29s raided on the night of March 9-10, dropping around 1,700 tons of bombs around 16 square miles of the city were destroyed and over 100,000 people are estimated to have died in the "fire storm". It was the most destructive conventional raid of the war against Japan. In the following two weeks there were almost 1,600 further sorties against the four cities, destroying 31 square miles in total at a cost of only 22 aircraft. There was a third raid on Tokyo on May 26.
The fire bomb raids were not the only raids on Tokyo, there were more regular raids using conventional high explosives. With the capture of Okinawa the Eighth Air Force was to be transferred there. Monthly tonnage dropped on Japan had increased from 13,800 tons in March to 42,700 tons in July, and was planned to have continued to increase to around 115,000 tons per month.

He was in their deck of cards, so they obviously knew they didn't kill him. Was this US propaganda at it's best (just like the "Saving Private Lynch" fiasco) or was this a case of the media not doing their job and informing the public that he was still alive?
I don't trust anything I hear from the US media anymore.

The new children's book.
by l3gi0n ini was reading through the new kids book released at the assembly, and couldn't help but notice the chapter on birthdays.
it went on to explain that people were beheaded at birthdays, and that god never said to celebrate them.
it then quoted the catholic encyclopedia as stating "only sinners... make great rejoicings over the day on which they were born" .

Interestingly, there are many accounts of male spirits having sexual relations with women from all corners of the earth all through recorded history. In fact, it is so common that it has it's own name: Incubus.
Just posting this to show that this story is not exclusive to the JW's, whatever the actual cause of these hullucinations.

Help, my son has turned American !
by Simon ini don't know what's happened ... but whenever he plays on the xbox driving games he now puts on a very good 'american' accent.
it is frighteningly good in fact !
the only thing we can think of is that he's picked it up from his cousin who was over a few weeks ago and they played on it together quite a bit (liam get's on really well with him even though he's about 5 years older).. on reflection i guess it is a bit more canadian than american so i am not as worried about it (
